The longest winning streak in Superstar Basketball history came to an end when Lady Skull-basherz defeated Ladies Reign two seasons ago. The streak of 19 wins wasn’t the only streak that ended and Lady Skull-basherz became the second Women’s team to repeat as Champions. Anchoring the Lady Skull-basherz is savvy point guard, Jodian Lyn. Gymnast, basketball player, two-time Champion, aspiring doctor – the sky is the limit for Jodian.
1. You’re a two-time Champion in Superstar Basketball. You have college basketball in your background and you’re one of the top point guards in the league? When did you start learning to play basketball?
I started at the age of 9 watching guys play pick up, then I would go to the court at my church and try and teach myself what I was seeing: from shooting to dribbling.
I stayed outside my house in my driveway for hours working on my shooting form and also dribbling and coordination.
2. What kind of workouts do you do to stay in shape?
Well I just run multiple pick up games against guys for my workout, i don’t weight lift lol. But as far as shooting, i take about 300 to 400 shots a workout, with each spot i shoot from i have to make 15 in a row in order to move on, if I miss I start over. It teaches me discipline and also how to stay focused and not cheat myself.
3. We saw on your MySpace that you were trying to get your 6-pack going. How’s that going?
Lol well I’m trying to get it back, I have the 4 pack definitely but the bottom 2 are hiding. Lol. Gotta bring them back out i guess. But in order to get my six pack I actually have to do ab exercises, which I just started up again. Lol.
4. We also saw that you did gymnastics… how does that tie in to basketball? Did it make you a better basketball player?
I started gymnastics in High school, doing both team stuff (pyramids and what not) and also acrobatics. the Team stuff (pyramids, tosses, and etc) taught me how to trust my team and also develop physical strength (it’s hard to do a three high and be on the top if I don’t trust my team).
The acrobatics allowed me to develop my vertical ability/strength… tumbling on a tumble track helps your vertical jump without you even knowing it.
