FIRST WEEK
7.21.09
To those who asked how the first week went...
It went great. Thanks for asking. =)
Actually it didn't.
Stupid me woke up at 12:30 instead of 10:00.
Either I need to get a new alarm clock or I have
to sleep earlier on Saturdays. I usually get 2-3
hours of sleep in the past and get away with a
full day's work on Sundays. For some reason, I
didn't sleep until 6 a.m. (writing previews).
SCHEDULE
EVERYONE wants previews done earlier. It would
be great if we can finalized the schedule on
Wednesday, Thursday... so I can work on the
previews on Friday.
FOR WEEK 2, I am still waiting on our schedule
for the Pomona Gyms.
I'll have the schedule up once I get their
availability.
LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON
...is Friday, July 24!!
PEACE.

SCAVENGER HUNT
7.18.09
WEST COAST GOLD RUSH II
WELCOME TO SUPERSTAR BASKETBALL’s FIRST EVER
SCAVENGER HUNT
West Coast Gold Rush II isn’t just about the
teams but also about you, the fans. This season,
Superstar Basketball is encouraging the fans,
families, and players to join the Gold Rush.
Every week, we are encouraging you to post
pictures of different things related to
Superstar Basketball. Whether it’s taking
pictures of your shoes, fans, or players
dunking, each week will be something different.
What do you get? A gold medal. Not enough. We’re
also giving away a Fan of the Season jersey for
the winner. Still not enough? How about a $100
gift certificate to a local shoe store.
Only 1 winner will be awarded with these prizes.
If there are multiple leaders by the All Star
Game, there will be a tie-breaker during the All
Star festivities.
Rules are simple. Share your pictures on
Superstar Basketball’s Facebook Fan page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Superstar-Basketball/39476819083
Why Facebook? Because it’s the easiest site
where fans can share pictures.
This week, the objective is simple.
1. Whether you’re a fan or a player, all you
have to do is take a picture of yourself wearing
your team’s jersey. The deadline to share your
pictures on Facebook is Monday, 9 p.m. (PT)
So what are you waiting for? Join us today, sign
up and be a fan of
Superstar Basketball’s Facebook page and
represent your team!!
(Even if your team isn't scheduled, you can
still participate and upload you wearing your
team pictures.)

TWIT THIS
7.14.09
SCHEDULE
Just waiting on Walnut Rec to give me a
definite schedule for this weekend...
They have a badminton tournament this weekend
and I found out we won't have the gym until
after 12 or 2 p.m. They'll give me a
confirmation later today.
SOCIAL NETWORKS
In the past, we relied on MySpace for previews,
recaps and photos. Uncle Tom is getting old and
a lot of people are using Facebook nowadays.
Here's a run-down of how we're using MySpace,
Facebook, and Twitter, and FlickR.
MySpace - Talk trash.
Twitter - Post updates, post pictures of
food because I loooove to eat. =)
Facebook / FlickR - It's convenient for
me to upload pictures that are unedited to
FlickR. We usually post just 5 headlines per
week but on FlickR / Facebook, we'll add more
random and unedited pictures. Want a sample?
Check out the past tournament photos on FlickR
and Facebook.
Thank You and I'm hoping you like the new
layout. |

S-LACKING
7.11.09
Sorry for the lack of updates. Call it slacking
but I needed the 2 weeks off, you feel me.
Ever since my computer crashed, I've been
experimenting w/ other web design programs.
Anytime you use IE8 or Safari as your browser
for Superstar, it ends up looking like something
else I cooked up. Basically learning a new
program so...please be patient.
Next season starts on July 12. Varsity Division
will play on July 12.
Adult Division starts on July 19.
GM MEETING
Will be tomorrow on July 12, 5 p.m., at
Walnut Rec.
Why is the GM Meeting so important?
In the past, we've approved rules at GM
Meetings, rules that are critical to your team.
You know that rule where you have to play 2
games in order to qualify for Playoffs? We
approved it at the GM Meeting. You know that
rule where we still allow Diamond players to
play in Gold, yes, we approved it at the GM
Meeting. Last season, all the GMs wanted payment
up front for their teams. This is your chance to
make a payment before season starts.
There's only 2 times during the year where I
take your suggestions seriously.
1. At the GM Meeting
2. Exit Interview.
During the course of the season, I will hear it
all. From officiating complaints to complaints
on schedule, team match-ups, gym floor, gym
rats, gym Nguyen... I have heard it all. If you
want me to take your suggestions seriously, two
words, GM Meeting.
Peace. |
