The "History in the Sketching" project was
thought of October 3rd 2007. The project is
in development to create awareness of
current and past events
that have impacted our history. Awareness
that will be represented through the medium
of art. Such events as "Katrina","911", "Sex
trafficking", and "Magic Johnson's Aids
Announcement".
While creating awareness it is also
developing an art book with all these
stunning representations of history. An art
book that will be on pre-sale by week 7 of
the Superstar Basketball League (Rivalry
week). Proceeds will be donated to charities
and non-profit organizations that will help
our communities.
This artbook will be sick, and will feature
Superstar Basketball's very own Justin
Reyes. Like Superstar Basketball, which
helps bring communities together from the
love of basketball, community and just plain
good times, the "History in the Sketching"
project will do that by helping our
communities prosper and by creating a new
medium in which people can be aware of
what's going on in their societies and their
world.

You Got Some Explaining To Do, Mister

I just
want to clear up some roster add-ons in order to
avoid any rumors. A lot of new names are showing
up but here's the explanation.
So if you look at the right side of this page it
says the following:
- LAST DAY
TO ADD PLAYER (REVISED
to end of 2nd game)
I understand how tough scheduling has been for
ALL of us and even when teams added players at
the beginning of their 3rd game, we had to be
lenient and let that go.
Some new names are showing up for the first time
but keep in mind that these teams haven't played
2 games.
Black Out (added players at the end of
their 2nd game) Foundation (only played 2 games,
last game was a forfeit against Black Out, added
players before 3rd game played.) Elements (only played 2 games, added
players before 3rd game) Assassins, Run N Gun (e-mailed rosters 3
weeks ago. Names weren't on game logs but were
in an e-mail sent several weeks back. e-mail was
on file) Dead End (myspace messaged several names
from a couple weeks back) Underdawgs (replaced player before 3rd
game played)
There were several ways to add players on your
roster.
1. Write their names on the stat sheet
2. E-mail a roster before the deadline
3. MySpace message the Superstar MySpace page
There's only 1 team that can still add players:
Phenoms.
You'll probably see some more teams moving
players between their affiliate teams. I went
ahead and revised the Teams page so that its
current.
LAST DAY
TO MOVE
PLAYERS BETWEEN AFFILIATE TEAMS
(REVISED to end of 4th game)
Zebras.
Lastly, YOU KNOW how refs are. Refs will be
refs, blah blah blah. I am NOT a referee. I go
through the same things you guys go through in a
game and there's nothing more I hate than
playing against a team that gets all the calls.
Let me rephrase that... actually it is the same
players that get fouls called for them because
they know how to draw fouls.
I hear it all the time. "The refs favor their
team." "Ya'll pay extra ref fees, or what?" "Yo
dawg, are you best friends w/ the refs?"
Thing
is, all you have to do is look at free throw
attempts to see which players are getting the
most trips to the line. You already know The
Kid likes to do his pump fakes to get you in
the air so that you end up fouling him. You
already know Kenneth Ubom, OJ Yayboe
are gonna drive in and force the refs to make a
call. All I gotta say is play smarter and make
them shoot from outside instead of letting them
drive in because that's how they draw their
fouls. Know your opponents, play smart, and stop
the whine. Any more concerns, please talk to
Reggie Ramirez (pictured on the right) and he'll
give you a free consultation on how to play
without fouling.
With so many schedule changes and with the
schedule finalized on Friday, it doesn't make
sense to finish the commentary until Friday
night / Saturday morning. Match ups are being
moved around and we've been lenient with game
times for the early part of the season. Now that
we're back at Walnut Rec, we're limiting
schedule requests because match-ups are set up
accordingly.
There's a lot of factors that come in so please
comply with the schedule.
Home Sweet Home. We're back at Walnut
Gymnasium/Walnut Rec, however you want to call
it. If you don't know where Walnut Rec is at,
the address is:
Week
4 / Week 5. Usually that's when games are
competitive and you'll see a few hard fouls here
and there. Let me reiterate,
THERE IS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR FIGHTING.
You
are not only representing yourself but your
team, your community and OUR league. It hasn't
been a problem yet, but I'm doing my part in
preventing it from ever happening.
If you're going to bad-mouth officials or our
staff, I have no problem suspending you for a
whole season. If you're suspended, you are not
allowed to participate at our events as a player
or as a fan.

Finally
back at the Rec!!!
Nusantara said it best, "These last few weeks
seemed like the Lakers road trip."
We will still have our night games at ASC but
our morning hours are from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at
Walnut Rec. We are adding hours to our Walnut on
Brea Canyon gym but it won't be available until
after March.
Speaking
of home... welcome back Aries Inguito
from the Philippines. I have to apologize for
mocking him on Superstar Radio but it's all in
good fun. I'm the biggest F.O.B. there is so
take my imitation of him lightly.
There's
a lot of hype surrounding this year's NBA
Playoffs. I say we name our upcoming season,
"Where Superstars Happens."
