The "History in the Sketching" project was
thought of October 3rd 2007. The project is
in development to create awareness of
current and past events
that have impacted our history. Awareness
that will be represented through the medium
of art. Such events as "Katrina","911", "Sex
trafficking", and "Magic Johnson's Aids
Announcement".
While creating awareness it is also
developing an art book with all these
stunning representations of history. An art
book that will be on pre-sale by week 7 of
the Superstar Basketball League (Rivalry
week). Proceeds will be donated to charities
and non-profit organizations that will help
our communities.
This artbook will be sick, and will feature
Superstar Basketball's very own Justin
Reyes. Like Superstar Basketball, which
helps bring communities together from the
love of basketball, community and just plain
good times, the "History in the Sketching"
project will do that by helping our
communities prosper and by creating a new
medium in which people can be aware of
what's going on in their societies and their
world.

Please be
on time. We have to start at the top of the hour
and we will be following scheduled times. We
have to pay the gym extra if we go over the
scheduled time so please be there on time.
If I can,
I'll find a way to have a t.v. in there but that
means you have to bring us food. I'm not joking,
Just kidding, maybe I'm not, but bring food
anyway.
Teams
will make their debut at a new location so
please plan ahead to find the new spot. We don't
want anyone getting lost. E-mail the
Commissioner for my number. I will be
following the rules the league has bestowed upon
me and to quote one Eric Cartman, "You will
respect my au-tho-ri-tai."

I'm not
one to lie about things and straight up, I'm
going to miss Superbowl this season. Usually,
I'd be drinking beer, eating away but this
season... I already know Patriots are going to
win it so why bother. They'll be the first team
to have a perfect season and you know I'll have
my Tivo on.
There's a
lot of perfect teams that still have their
records intact and I would rather watch those
teams play. Playmakers took The Association to
double OT and I'm wondering which team has what
it takes to finally put an end to The
Association's winning streak which is currently
at 12 games. Ladies Reign was perfect last
season and their winning streak is at 9 games.
In other news.... we are getting Walnut Rec back
by mid February. We will also team up with the
City of Walnut and American Cancer Society to
finally host an all day tournament. All proceeds
will go to American Cancer Society.
Tentative Schedule is up for Superbowl Weekend.
The dozens of texts, e-mails and messages are
about to pour in regarding time changes, so I'm
about to change my number and mark all e-mails
as spam.
Later.

With teams
starting their games at separate weeks, we will
base your deadlines according to games. Instead
of the deadline to add players instead of Week
2, the deadline to add players would be after
your 2nd game. Deadline to trade players would
be after your 3rd game and the deadline to move
players between two divisions is your 4th game.
The team rosters will be back this season. I
didn't have time to work on it last season and I
had a few software conflicts. They're back this
season so please fill it out and send it to

The
Good News: We have gyms reserved in the City
of Placentia starting February 3. We'll update
the schedule once the paperwork is done.
The Bad News: Some teams will be playing
on President's Day but for the most part,
the schedule is being done a week in advance.
Schedule for January 27 has already been posted.
We can all thank Outkast Connection/Team
Kabibbles Allen Medina for filling out
the paperwork and getting the gym reserved.
Gyms have been updated, again.
Rookie Hazing

COMMISH
It's well
known that in our articles, rookies rarely get
the pub they deserve unless of course they're a
stand-out player. Call it rookie hazing but it
only happens because we don't know too much
about the rookies. But after a period of time,
we start to know more about the noobies and more
things are being written about them. The same
concept applies to Superstar Basketball...
The league has only been around for 7 seasons (1
year and a half) and we are still making a name
for ourselves. Unfortunately, there are other
basketball organizations that have priority when
it comes to gym time and the most difficult time
is the winter season. NJB (National Junior
Basketball) rents out most of the facilities in
the local area and locations are scarce because
they have priority. As you all know, high school
basketball runs though March and Rowland High
School will not be available for us (we just
found out as of January 9).
In the mean time, we will only run 2 games this
opening weekend at Walnut Gym (11 a.m. - 1
p.m.). There is a MLK Volleyball Tournament at
American Sports Center but the following
weekend, we will have evening hours from 6:00
p.m. to 10 p.m. at ASC.
This is
just a temporary fix. We have 3 staff members
who are inquiring about availability in the
local area. This season will drag but every team
will get their 8 games and as long as we have
Walnut Rec by March, we should be okay.
Thanks.
