END OF
THE SEASON AWARDS - GOLD DIVISION
APRIL
3, 2007
Silent But
Deadly's Francis De La Victoria wins first
MVP award.

Francis De La Victoria led Silent But Deadly to the best record in the crowded Gold Division and the All Star averaged 18.8 ppg, 1.6 apg in his second season. The sharp-shooter led his team in scoring and also led the division in three-pointers with a total of 35 three pointers.
"The MVP was a tight race between Francis, former MVP Kevin Valmonte, Money Shot forward Adrian Eddington and rookie Dale Basingat. All four were worthy of the honor but Francis ultimately won out in one of the closest MVP races to date," said a Superstar Basketball league official.
Heavy Hittaz rookie Center Jesse Romero was rewarded with a Defensive Player of the Season award after leading Heavy Hittaz to a 6-2 record. The rookie averaged a double-double 15.6 ppg, 10.6 ppg and logged 11 steals (1.4 spg), and 7 blocks (0.9 bpg). The rookie edged out Silent But Deadly Center Rob Da Silva and the center finished with 10.4 rpg, 6 steals (0.9 spg) and 9 blocks (1.3 bpg). Reigning Defensive Player of the Season Dustin Perry received several nominations as well.
The Rookie of the Season
award was a no-brainer for many of the
analysts. Dale Basingat led the Gold
Division in scoring for most of the season
until Kevin Valmonte passed the rookie up on
the last day. Dale averaged 22.1 ppg and
finished with the second most points with a
total of 177. His presence led High Five to
the Playoffs and the franchise will be
making their first post season appearance
this season.
"That's how much of a
difference Dale has made for the franchise.
He was out momentarily with an injured back
against Silent But Deadly but that's from
carrying the franchise on his back," said an
admiring GM.
High Five GM Gaylord Somera wasn't
going to register for the Winter Season but
a last minute scramble led to a surprising
turnaround for the franchise. The GM built
around two pieces Center Chuck Trevino (13.0
rpg) and All Star Jason Dalafu (18
three-pointers) but the turning point was
the acquisition of rookie Basingat. After 3
long seasons, the drought is over for High
Five. Also receiving GM of the Season votes
was Regulators GM Mike Chau. Regulators had
3 different GM's last season and for the GM
to survive through his first season meant a
lot to the franchise.
After averaging 2.4 ppg
and hitting 4 three pointers last season for
Money Shot, Money Inc GM Andrew Persaud
started his own team (Evil Empire) and
was determined to improve the bench play for
his Platinum Division team. He finished with
the second most three pointers with a total
of 28 three pointers averaging 14.9 ppg and
1.1 spg.
