END OF
THE SEASON AWARDS - DIAMOND DIVISION
APRIL
4, 2007
Jovan Jester
named Diamond Division's MVP

Deacons season started off slow without two of their key players in the rotation. Reigning MVP Mark Moton was out with an injury and Terrell Renner was inactive. Without hesitation, Jovan took over and led two-time Champion Deacons to a 4-4 record.
He's been known to post all around numbers and this season was no different: Jovan ranked in the top 3 in the following categories: ranked 2nd in points (216), 2nd in assists (34) and 1st in steals (19). He averaged 25.0 ppg and played in all 8 of Deacons games.
Playmakers Martin
Camarena tied for second in steals with
a total of 16 for the season. He finally
captured the Defensive Player of the Season
award, an honor that eluded him for several
seasons. He finished with an average of 4.4
rpg, and averaged 2.0 spg.
"He did a lot of things
defensively that didn't show up in the box
score," said a league official. "He anchored
the Playmakers defense and led Playmakers to
a 5-3 record."
Rookie of the Season was a
tight race between several rookies. It was
perhaps the closest race in the division but
in the end Dedrick Bates edge out
teammate Leon Fiaherty. The first
time All Star averaged 18.8 ppg, 2.1 apg,
5.5 rpg and 1.6 spg. He finished in the top
3 in three-pointers hitting a total of 23
three pointers. Leon averaged a team-high
22.8 ppg, 1.8 apg, 6.8 rpg for Run N Gun.
Posse GM Shadon Knight finished with
14.3 ppg, 2.5 apg, 7.8 rpg while So Cal
Ballers Taylor Begg averaged 19.0 ppg
and finished with 10 three-pointers, 1.9 apg,
4.9 rpg. All three teams finished with a 4-4
record.
You can erase 'interim' from his title as
Young Gunnaz GM Kenny Ali led the
Fontana team to a 7-1 record. League
analysts were quick to crack on Ali in the
Young Gunnaz season opener saying: ""I
know he doesn't float like a butterfly or
stings like a bee, but Kenny Ali has no
business in being the GM." After leading
Young Gunnaz to the division's best record,
it's safe to say Ali has earned the respect
of his peers.
John Gorvokaj
finally found a new home after riding the
pine for Stunners for many seasons. 'Super
J' was the first player traded in Superstar
history and he was revitalized this season
averaging 10.4 ppg and hitting 19 three
pointers for his new team. The most
noteworthy stat in the Diamond Division
belonged to first time MVP Deacons Jovan
Jester. The two-time Champion improved his
scoring average to 25.0 ppg up from 11.9 ppg
a season ago.
