Rivalry Weekend
kicks off on Week 7.
The #1 Stunners, were fresh off their
Championship win (Winter 2008) when a
young rookie by the name of
Jason Sanchies claimed his team would beat the
Stunners. The following season, Semi Pro
Inc
defeated the #1 Stunners on Week 3 and
when the Stunners failed to make the
Playoffs, Semi Pro Inc claimed their
first Championship. The tables have
turned. The rookie team
defeated the Champions back then, this
time around the veterans
face the defending Champions,
Semi Pro Inc.
The Relics, bitter from their failed
Championship run, brought in Terrance
Martin and won the Championship in their
3rd try against Money Inc. Relics were
labeled as Public Enemy #1 for stacking
up their squad and a season later, the
tables have turned. Money Inc has a
bigger team than ever and the two renew their
rivalry on Week 7. It's a Championship
re-match as Vestige aka Relics faces
Money Inc for the first time since
winning their first Championship.

BUSY
Been very, very busy here. Not only with the new site but with the
hassle of
collecting fees. Surely, there has to be a better way of collecting
fees right?
The new recruit starts next season and we're working out the rules
and such...
We will have a PO Box address where you can mail in the payments
and your
team will not be scheduled unless you pay for your games.
By doing this, it will prevent discrepancies. It will prevent you
(the GM) from
having to pay for more than you should. A lot of GMs actually
prefer it this way
because if teams aren't scheduled for not paying, players will pay
GMs so
that they can play.

GOLD DIVISION
Teams that are 3-3, 3-4 still have a chance at Playoffs.
I'm looking at all the possible scenarios so please be patient w/ the
schedule
this week. The requests are archived in my
e-mail but I'll have it tonight.
LEAGUE FEES
Besides scheduling games, I have a difficult task of collecting fees from
everyone.
Most of you will get an e-mail on your balance tomorrow morning.
Make your payment by Friday. This should have been done on Week 4
already!!

LIFESTYLE
We received a lot of inquiries regarding next season's registration.
REGISTRATION begins on
SEPTEMBER 12
Season begins on
OCTOBER 12
We will celebrate our 10th Season by naming it "Lifestyle" after our
motto:
"Basketball isn't just a game, it's a lifestyle."
INTRODUCING OUR NEW SCHEDULE COORDINATOR
I've done the scheduling for the past 9 seasons but with the league
getting
bigger it's time to pass that responsibility to someone else.
Starting next season, the new scheduling coordinator will handle all
payments,
scheduling via e-mail.
I will strictly focus on being Commish and being 'just' the
webmaster. When
you want to make your payment, get your games scheduled, please e-mail
the
coordinator.
INTRODUCING OUR NEW
PROCEDURE
So when I met with this person, one of the things we discussed is
accepting
payment during game days. Personally, I hate it.
I'm more into the media stuff, more into taking pictures, doing
interviews, adding
on to the features that makes our league unique.
For the teams who pay in advance, I can't thank you enough for making
life easier.
For the teams who pay every game day, your process will have to change.
- In order for games to be scheduled, payment (check or paypal) must be
RECEIVED by Tuesday afternoon.
- Games will only be scheduled if payment is received by Tuesday
afternoon,
Yes that's a repeat, Payment must be received by Tuesday
afternoon.
- Scheduling priority goes to teams who pay first.
If you hate driving to ASC, then you better pay in
advance!
I AM NOT PART of the scheduling committee no longer so please don't ask
me
if you can get your game scheduled...despite the fact that your team
hasn't paid.
I've heard every excuse in the book for the past 9 seasons. I've always
been
straight up when the website isn't updated or when things are going on in
the
league. When I have to hear every excuse in the book and you complain
about
officiating...when your team hasn't paid half of their fees, then I can't
take
you seriously. (no names mentioned)
Do you really think I can tell ASC or City of Walnut or the insurance
company...
"What had happened with my check was.... (fill in the blank)"
NO GAMES
Just a reminder, NO GAMES THIS COMING HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
It's funny how a head referee will ask me if there's any games on
Holidays...
when we haven't played on any holidays during the past 9 seasons.
(no names mentioned)
=)

LOST VEGAS
Seems like all the regulars were missing. Was Vegas really all that last
week?
Well, game logs were up early on Monday and I'm cranking out all the
recaps by
tonight. I guess that's my way of saying thanks. lol.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
I'm waiting for ASC's schedule this weekend before I post up tentative
schedules.
A lot of teams are playing double-headers but expect most of the Diamond
teams
to be at Anaheim this week.
CONTINUED UPDATES
Next on the list is the Records page and the All Star page.
I just got done with the
Championship page
last weekend.
It's taking longer than expected because they layout is cleaner and I'm
making
it easier for myself to update in the future. It's kinda like the time
when NBA 2K8
re-designed their engine.... the graphics looked better but it took
awhile.
