 GYM TIME - ASC

We have American Sports Center from the following hours:
   6 p.m. (3 courts)
   7 p.m. (3 courts)
   8 p.m. (3 courts)

   Thanks.

 LEAGUE FEES

Full Payments for League Fees were due on Week 3.

   Registration Fee:
   - $380 (New Teams)
   - $340 (Returning Teams)

   Referee Fees:
   - $280 (8 games x $35)

If your team isn't fully paid by Wednesday, you will not be scheduled from here
on out. Contact me via e-mail to make payment arrangements. You can make a
payment via paypal or in person.

I had the stupidest question asked the other day, "Why is it so expensive?"
My response, "Wow. Our prices are competitive with other leagues. Not only
do we provide you games but we do a lot more than other leagues. Previews,
recaps, sortable stats, archived seasons, Superstar Radio... the list goes on."

If you're wondering why the previews weren't posted on time on Week 7... well...
not only did I e-mail each team with a balance but I had to research each team's
payment history since a lot of teams don't pay all at once. It's a hassle and I'm
sure you've seen the process. All I'm sayin' is help us help you.

   FORFEIT BOND

Per request by more than half the teams in the league, a forfeit bond will be instituted
next season.  I have never seen so many forfeits in a season and everyone has
their excuse here and there. To make things smoother, we will have a forfeit bond
   next season.

   MATCH-UPS

If your team is 2-5, expect to play against a team that is 5-2 just so you have the
chance to earn a tie-breaker for the Playoffs.  If you're trying to play against a team
that is 2-5, there's no point in playing against another 2-5 team unless you have
already defeated a top 5-2 team.

   SCHEDULE

The schedule for Week 8 will be updated as of Wednesday night.
I'm still waiting for teams to make a full payment by Wednesday.
   NO PAY, NO PLAY.

 THE RIVALRY CONTINUES

Sometimes the schedule doesn't work in our favor (Superbowl) and sometimes we
   get lucky.

There was one season where Week 7 was
   Rivalry Weekend in So. Cal.
   - USC vs UCLA (football)
   - Lakers vs Clippers
This season our Rivalry Weekend (Week 7) is
during Game 2 of the NBA Finals
Boston vs LA. (LAKERS IN 6!!)

   ALL STAR WEEKEND

You want to know what's extremely lucky. 4 weeks ago, we came up with the
concept of having our players wear jerseys for our Diamond Division All Stars vs.
   Platinum Division All Star Game.

   Check out the colorway.

The Championship shirts from last season
   came in.

Click on the right to check out the shirts.

Next season's registration is already up.
EARLY BIRD SPECIAL for teams that pay early.

$600 from now to June 13.

This is the lowest price available.
You get more than what other basketball leagues give you.
Write-ups, stats, Superstar Radio, Superstar TV... you know the deal.

There's still a lot of teams that aren't fully paid.
PLEASE MAKE THE FULL PAYMENT BY THIS WEEKEND.
STATS KEEPERS WILL NOT START THE GAME UNTIL WE HAVE FULL PAYMENT.
YOUR TEAM WILL RECEIVE A LOSS AND A FORFEIT FEE.

Fees were due 3 weeks ago. We've been lenient until now. We got bills to pay.
    NO EXCEPTIONS.

    Peace.

 SPIKED

Because of the volleyball schedule at American Sports Center, only 2 courts will
be available for us.  We were aware of the situation as of 11:00 a.m. on Friday
morning. What this means is, some teams HAVE to play at 10 p.m. on Sunday night.

Playing at 10 p.m. is fun especially if you can't sleep at night. I'm about to hear
the complaints about playing at 10 but look at it this way:
   - it's Summertime
   - you have the whole day to yourself
   - 10 p.m., 8 a.m., 7 p.m. ...if you're a baller, it doesn't matter what time you play.

   LAGGERS

We lost one of our best writers due to unforeseen circumstances (suspension)
so we're doing more than we should be. Some of my writers are getting ready to
wrap up their school semester so thanks for being patient with them.

I would have written it myself but real talk... I'd be writing with an angry keyboard.
Those of you who personally know me know that I keep it real, I don't hide emotions
and I'm straight up. I'm still turned off about Week 5 and every time I start writing
I find myself hitting Delete-delete-delete. Season 7 was so simple but Season 8...
   ya'll making me work!!

   NBA FINALS
Game 5 is on June 15.
Game 5 is on June 15.
Game 5 is on June 15.

You know what that means, right? There better be a Lakers sweep or the Lakers
better win it away or else we're looking at a potential Championship Game on
Week 8. That last thing I want to hear in this already tumulus season is the Lakers
celebrating a Championship and us playing ball at Walnut Rec.
