SCOREBOARD

 SPIKED

Because of the volleyball schedule at American Sports Center, only 2 courts will
be available for us.  We were aware of the situation as of 11:00 a.m. on Friday
morning. What this means is, some teams HAVE to play at 10 p.m. on Sunday night.

Playing at 10 p.m. is fun especially if you can't sleep at night. I'm about to hear
the complaints about playing at 10 but look at it this way:
   - it's Summertime
   - you have the whole day to yourself
   - 10 p.m., 8 a.m., 7 p.m. ...if you're a baller, it doesn't matter what time you play.

   LAGGERS

We lost one of our best writers due to unforeseen circumstances (suspension)
so we're doing more than we should be. Some of my writers are getting ready to
wrap up their school semester so thanks for being patient with them.

I would have written it myself but real talk... I'd be writing with an angry keyboard.
Those of you who personally know me know that I keep it real, I don't hide emotions
and I'm straight up. I'm still turned off about Week 5 and every time I start writing
I find myself hitting Delete-delete-delete. Season 7 was so simple but Season 8...
   ya'll making me work!!

   NBA FINALS
Game 5 is on June 15.
Game 5 is on June 15.
Game 5 is on June 15.

You know what that means, right? There better be a Lakers sweep or the Lakers
better win it away or else we're looking at a potential Championship Game on
Week 8. That last thing I want to hear in this already tumulus season is the Lakers
celebrating a Championship and us playing ball at Walnut Rec.

 FRIENDLY REMINDER
There are NO GAMES THIS WEEKEND.

Also, I'm still on strike so yah. I don't see any updates going up anytime soon.
The moral of the story is, It only takes 1 fight, ONE. 1 fight will get the league thrown
out of a gym. Fortunately, it never happened,
and it better NOT HAPPEN.

If we get thrown out of a gym, there is no league. IT ONLY TAKES 1-2 teams to
(substitute the f word with mess) mess it up for everyone. If you're gonna
(substitute the f word with mess) mess around, everyone suffers, just like right
   now.

Stats aren't up, everything is delayed, so you can thank these players for making me
do extra work in sorting this out and handing out stupid suspensions instead of
   working on game logs.

Maybe I should change the headline to NOT-SO Friendly reminder.

   ES DEE, BAY-BEE.

If any of ya'lls gonna be in San Diego tomorrow around 2 p.m., hollah at yo boy.
Gonna check out gym locations, dot some i's, cross some t's, and we'll make it
official in 2 weeks. Do work, drive up for 2 hours, and it's game time!!

   Lakers game tomorrow!!!

Maybe I can finally chill for a minute.

 TWO HOT AT THE REC
   We're making changes.

FINAL SCHEDULE WILL BE DONE THURSDAY NIGHT.

If you're asking for a schedule request, do it no later than Tuesday 12 p.m. PT.
If it's after that, don't bother.

We have had 2 forfeits in the past 2 weeks, teams shows up at wrong gyms.
What people don't understand is that our officials STILL GET PAID for forfeits.
   Our stats-keepers don't get paid.
What bothers me more is that teams make a drive out here, and they just want to run.
They can't play if the other team doesn't show up.

   FINAL SCHEDULE WAS DATED:
   Finalized on Friday, 6:01:02 p.m.

It's on the right side. I guess I'm not the only one needing glasses.

I'm not being sarcastic either. My contacts ain't cutting it, and I had to buy glasses.
From now on, Schedule won't change past Thursday night. Whatever you see
on Friday IS FINAL. NO TIME STAMPS EITHER.

Let's chant this one: FINAL FRIDAY. FINAL FRIDAY. SCHEDULE IS FINAL, FRIDAY.

TWO FORFEITS... but TWO ALTERCATIONS AT THE SAME TIME??
Okay I try to be professional but c'mon kiddos. (trying hard not to use profanity)

   1.
We have a staff writer that likes to kick back by writing for Superstar and
working the stats table in his spare time. I know he likes Iverson but apparently
   a little too much.

ROCKY ANCIANO is the first staff member to be suspended after kicking a guy
as he stepped over him. Videotape was reviewed and he did kick the player.
Was it a hard kick? NOT REALLY. Was it a love tap from his heel to the other
player's head. NOT REALLY, there was an obvious kick, not a hard one.

This is different from when a player gets thrown out by referees. According to
the rules, a players is suspended for a game after he received a double tech.
The player is suspended for the following game for THAT TEAM ONLY.

For example, when PJ Lee got thrown out against That Same Team
(Platinum Division), he was still allowed to play for Stylin On You (Gold Division).

When a player is involved in an altercation, the player gets suspended for ALL his
   teams.

   Suspension is as follows:

Rocky Anciano - suspended for 3 Sundays.
                                 suspended from attending the games.
suspended from writing (not even as Ghost Writer).
                                 suspended working the stats table.

Chris Mosley - suspended for 1 Sunday for pushing Rocky shortly after.

5 minutes earlier, we had Jayson Barrett from Franchise get WWE on
   Silent But Deadly.

We're still in the process of sorting this out.

The role of a HEAD OFFICIAL is to get an assessment of what happened.
He must interview the stats-keepers and his referees despite the fact that the
League Commissioner was in the stands watching the game.

While Reggie Ramirez is in the process of sorting it out, I just want to remind you
   of our
Zero Tolerance rule.

Not only was Jayson involved in 1 altercation but he was involved in 2
altercations. Two hard fouls, but it is what it is. A hard foul.

There's no need to confront players after a hard foul. If you want to get WWE on
somebody, I believe WWE headquarters is in Concord. There's no place for that
here. We want our players to compete and not worry about players acting foolish.

I know how competitive it can get. Players talk crap to me all the time just so I have to
prove myself out there on the court. Do you know how many times I just want to get
the ball and throw it off someone's head? Do you know how many times I just want
to knock someone down?  Do you know how many times I've had to go to the gym
and lift weights after just so I can take the anger out. I can't act stupid out there.
   I can't get caught up... I CAN'T.

I've seen frustrated players sub themselves out...and those are the well behaved
players. Some of us can learn from them.

After an altercation, we delay everything.
Game Logs, articles, will be late this week as we sort
   this mess out.

We're grown men. Let's act like it.

 TAKE NOTES SON
   Man that Bifsteak was good...anyway.

Well I re-uploaded the Platinum Division sortable stats because I missed PJ
   Marte
's three-pointers when he played against TROY. That's been fixed and
he now ranks 5th in Platinum Division in three-pointers made. Hey PJ, I caught that
   one before you did. hah.

Speaking of 3-pointers and All Star Games, guess what. We upped the ante
this season. A lot of copycat leagues are copying our format.
You know, 3-point contest, All Star Game, and Championship Game the very same
weekend. We did it first and we have proof...oh back in Summer 2006.

Now it seems like everyone wants to have a 3-point shootout. That's fine and dandy
but uh it's time to '1-up' the competition.

WE HAVE RACKS THIS SEASON. So that's...
   20 TF-1000 Basketballs
5 White, Red, Blue basketballs as the money ball
5 ball racks which means NO MORE REBOUNDERS needed.

What does the winner get? We're done w/ the cash prize, no one really wants that.

A big 3-point shootout Trophy AND a t-shirt AND a TF-1000 basketball.
That's pretty good isn't it? TFs cost around $45 nowadays, and I'll sign it too. =)

   SPREAD 'EM

The amount of hits the website receives is averaging is 9,000 hits daily.

14,800 hits in 1 day? That's a lot of page views and just so we average the
same amount of views throughout the week, this is what we will do.

AROUND THE LEAGUE will now be posted on Friday for one of the divisions.
It will alternate every week. Gold Division was posted on Friday this week,
next week it will be Diamond/Platinum on Friday. We had to break it down to
separate sections because MySpace only allows a certain number of characters
before they cut it off. There will come a time when each division will have their own
page and that will happen when the league gets bigger.

The writing has improved and our stats-keepers are taking a lot of good notes
throughout the game. It takes a lot for me to compliment my staff because I don't
take compliments well myself and at the same time I want them to have that
hunger, but at our midway point...

The website has been great and the writing is much better. The copycat leagues
can bite all they want but it's our writers that make the league over the top.
You might upgrade your website w/ some spiffy Flash site, your stats might start
improving but where else are seasons archived for you to see? We can look back
   and see when...

When the Angkor Wat great Khorn Leng won MVP, we got that on file.
When PJ Marte won the 3-point shooting contest for the first time,
When The Problem humiliated Foundation on Rivalry Week.

With that, I want to thank our writers for doing a great job writing.
They're doing so good we want to read more, so hear's our online magazine,

Lifestyle

    Thanks and see ya'll Sunday.

 IF YOUR MOTHER ONLY KNEW
   It was Mother's Day Weekend...
...and my mom is MAD, mad I tell you. I didn't get to go to Pinoy Pinay with her, oh no.
There was no beef steak or sinigang (filipino food) on my plate, oh no.
Instead I spent the whole day at the Rec, being a MOM myself.

WE NEED TO ACCOUNTABLE, AS PLAYERS.

As a reminder, schedule is FINAL as of 5 p.m. on Friday. I did make changes last
minute and I took Phenoms off the schedule and scheduled Game Bang instead.
I posted comments on MySpace to remind Game Bang and I reminded them on
Saturday evening. I even went out of my way and e-mailed The Rock about the
reminder since they never played at ASC.

I know which games I switched because I followed up with them. There were

2 GAMES, 2 TEAMS where they misread the schedule and assumed game
times were scheduled for another time. NO NAMES MENTIONED.

Do me a favor and check the website on SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
If you have a schedule request, we will TRY and accommodate but e-mail me
on Sunday or Monday. I have teams calling me on Sunday afternoon trying
to re-schedule, 2 hours before their game. That's inconvenient, bro.

This whole tentative schedule is a privilege, what if we took it away??
There's leagues out there that don't even accommodate for your teams and they'll
schedule you any time of the day. Do you really want us to go that route?

I was on a short fuse on Sunday, and I'm not apologizing because:
   1. I'm not a babysitter.
   2. I'm not your mother.
   3. You need to man up.

If you play for a team, get your GM's phone number. Don't ask me for his phone
number bro. That just shows how disorganized your team is. I don't understand
how half the team thinks the game is at one time, and the other half think it's another
when the website specifically shows a certain time. NO NAMES MENTIONED.

If you're not a General Manager, you have no business talking to me about the way
your team is ran. Talk to your GM, oh my bad you don't even have his number. All
I'm saying is man up, BRO.

   IT GETS WORSE
The best part of being a player in my own league is seeing all the b.s. calls too.
I hear it all the time. Phantom calls, calls not going your way, blah blah blah.
I hate the fact that some referees act like kids, some hold grudges, and some
just can't keep up. We don't fire referees on the spot, there has to be several
incidents, otherwise it would be unfair for them since we're acting like kids.

I did all my complaining already so there's no need to cry over spilled milk. If you
have complaints, just like I did as a player, please contact Head
   Referee Reggie Ramirez
. Yah I had my run-in this weekend, got a
tech and yelled profanities, that was very very very childish of me,
and I apologize for that one. It won't happen again, so next time I play,
I'll play with tape over my mouth. STUPID ZEBRAS

   MOVING FORWARD
I try not to do stats anymore since I'm evaluating the referees half the time. I can
honestly say the refs been on par except for a couple bad ones which we already
let go. If you know some good officials that are licensed, let us know. The website
has improved every season, the stats-keepers are getting better, but the officials...
like Aaliyah, I'm on them like a hawk in the sky.

I hate writing 'Debby Downer' blogs but that's how messed up Mother's Day was
for me. Two teams being a hour late, a referee power-trippin', a player that bugs
the hell out of me with irrelevant questions and staff members that won't pay up
   after they lose a bet.

Maybe lunch at Pinoy Pinay with my mom will make the
   week better.

   Bifsteak, sinigang, and coke, please.
   Thank youuuuuu!!!
