WEEK 3 |

|
|
|
Rookies are coming in the league being
more outspoken than ever. Just before
the #1 Stunners won their first
Championship, Semi Pro Inc
GM Jason
Sanchies called out the Stunners...
before playing his first Superstar game. |
-
Rocky Anciano:
"These rookies gotta
earn their stripe before being outspoken." |
- The
Problem before their Week 1 match-up
against Semi Pro:
"I
don't know why they're calling out the
defending Champs... when they're
overlooking the best team in Superstar." |

COMMISH NEEDS GLASSES OR SOMETHING |
Like I said, I'm all about accountability.
Apologies to 'Mr. Riverside' Dedrick Bates.
I had Uzoma leading the Diamond Division in RPG but it was actually
Dedrick.
Apologies to scheduling Run N Gun and Street Fam for a second time.
Uh, apologies for my staff member *ehem* Yoo, for messing up the
Stylin On You
game log. Not throwing him under the bus, cuz you can't throw Harry
under a bus.
As a reminder, check the schedule tab because sometimes, I put the
wrong times
on the main scoreboard.
If anyone would like to donate a pair of glasses or two 24" Samsung
monitors to the league, that would be greatly appreciated. I'll
make no mistakes
when those two gifts come in. =) Otherwise, send those e-mails,
I'll fix it.
RECAPS
Will be up tonight. It was either the recaps or the stats first...
so I chose stats.
NEXT SEASON
Been getting a lot of inquiries on next season.
NEXT SEASON STARTS ON JULY 20.
San Diego season starts on July 26.
LEBRONZE DIVISION
Sometimes, you gotta separate the boys from the men, separate the
kiddos from
the big boys. We had a lot of teams leave... BECAUSE of the
competition in our
League. They can't keep up but others have taken the beating like
Champs. I am
re-iterating this because this is me watching out for the lil'
guys.
The league is about progression, it's about improving and taking it
to the next level.
Teams have made like Kanye West - Bigger, faster, stronger.
You see Diamond players in Platinum, Platinum players in Gold, even
Diamond in
Gold. Sometimes other teams can't keep up. They just want to play
within their group
instead of reaching out and trying to recruit free agents that can
take them to the
next level. That's fine and dandy, keep it in the family. That's
what Lebronze Division
is for.
Teams who constantly can't keep up with the big boys, teams that
can't hang
in Gold Division will compete in Lebronze. A lot of people say it's
not fair when a
a new team comes in and dominate Gold. Well, Gold will now serve as
a platform
to evaluate new teams. Teams who don't make Gold Division playoffs
will be allowed
to enter Lebronze Division. You can't just come in to Lebronze.
I may need glasses, but I'm not the only one. lol. =)
Peace.

ROSTER, MOTHER'S DAY, TRASH TALK, LE
BRONZE? |
It's been up for awhile now, it's on the
calendar, it's on the RULES, it's everywhere.
We even modified the rules so that we help you out on your roster.
Before it was
your 2nd game, now it's the 3rd game, let me repeat that...
You have
until your team's 3rd GAME to add players.
I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but there's about 5 teams
that are trying
to message me and these teams are still trying to add players. Your
team had 3
games, 3 weeks to add players.
"I had to go pee so I couldn't add that one last name."
"That guy that played in our first game got a hernia, he can't play
no more, can
I replace him?"
I anticipated this... so I had someone else
doing the game logs for me and
I can't add those names you're telling me to add. Why do you think
half the game
logs aren't updated yet. Because someone else is updating the stats
up. The rest
should be up by tonight since my stats keeper is new at this.
FOR YOUR MAMA.
Also, there's multiple requests this weekend because of Mother's
Day. I'll have a
tentative schedule up by tonight and the standings should be done
by tonight.
TRASH TALK
If you want to let out your steam on the boards, go ahead. It's all
fun and games
as long as you understand that. If we hear you talking trash after
the game that's
unnecessary, we'll give you a warning. We don't want things to
escalate and we'll
let you know if you're crossing the line. There are kids in the
stands, this is a family
event. We're strict with our rules and we'll do everything to
maintain our standard.
EIGHT SEASONS, ZERO FIGHTS.
How many other leagues can say that? Zero fights in a basketball
league???
We're proud of our track record and we'll do everything we can to
prevent one from
anything happening.
SILVER? COPPER? LE BRONZE?
The level of competition went up drastically. Teams that were
usually in the Playoffs
can't even crack the Top 10 and you know teams that are here just
for recreation
can't even keep up. I'm all about progression but I'm not going to
forget the lil' guys...
What's our fix?
Well, teams that don't make the Playoffs in Gold Division will be
moved to a lower
division. Copper, Le Bronze, we'll think of a creative name for it.
This division WILL
have no players from Diamond, Platinum, Gold. Strictly their own
division because
we want to keep it fair for guys who don't play basketball
throughout the week.
This division is just for guys who want to have fun w/ their
friends. PERIOD.
New teams will have to enter Gold Division first so you know you
can't just come
in thinking you're going to win a Championship in this new
division.
No offense to the following teams but you know this division is for
you guys.
Decepticons, Elements, Assassins... Second II None, B-LO-DA-RIM...
If you're a competitive team and you're trying to play in this
lower division, the
answer is NO.
626'ers... NO.
Deep Penetration... NO.
Evil Empire... NO.
Superstar Basketball has something for everybody...so all you teams
that left
because you said the competition is tough here, well this division
is for YOU.
Thanks.

League Fees |
Just a reminder on how much fees are:
LEAGUE FEES
$380 for new teams
$340 for returning teams
REFEREE FEES
$35 each game x $8 games = $280
TOTAL FEES
$660 for new teams
$620 for returning teams
PAY ALL AT ONCE BEFORE FIRST GAME
$600
You don't want to be on the 80 List. If you're falling
behind, we can schedule you to
work as a stats-keeper or a writer. We do a lot for the
league and we even
lowered our price to $600 if you pay everything upfront. Compared to
other
basketball leagues, we're right around the price range and we do a lot
more, A
LOT MORE for you.
ROSTERS
It's that time again. Rosters are locking up. You have
until the start of your 3rd game
to add names. You only get 12 roster slots. If your pops is
gonna play with you
for the Playoffs, if your gramma is gonna run a game, you
better add them to your
roster. Once your team has played the 3rd game, you know the
rosters are locked.
We hear it time and time again. Not only is it in the rules
but it's on Commish's Corner
It's also on the calendar. You have no excuse so make sure
you add those names.
STATS
Team stats are up. Individual / sortable stats will be up
as early as Friday morning.
There are still teams who haven't played so once everyone's
played, I can set up
the sortable stats.
ACCOUNTABILITY
As you can see, I'm big on ACCOUNTABILITY. Let me break
it down. The way you
play the game can be an extension of how you are on the
court. When I throw the
ball away on turnovers, I know it's my bad. If I miss an open
cutter on a set, I'll
dwell on that missed opportunity. If the defense collapses on
me and I lose the ball,
I have no one to blame but myself. That's me as point guard,
me as floor general. If
my team loses,
I AM ACCOUNTABLE.
That's how I AM off the court too. If I mess up, it's MY BAD.
If my stats-keepers are
messing up, I have to be accountable. If I mess up on the
schedule, I have to clean
the mess. If my referees overlook a player that's on the 80
list and the referee
allows that player to play,
I AM ACCOUNTABLE.
On the flip side, when I set up my teammates for easy passes
and they score, to
me that's better than hitting a wide-open three pointer. When my
teammates score
on a fast break opportunity that I engineered, that's where I feel
like I'm contributing.
When I dish out that patented no-look on an open man at the block,
that makes me
feel like #32. It's infectious when you're playing that team game. It's
Showtime all
over again.
This is a team effort. The success of Superstar Basketball
lies in your hands. When
players step up and start writing for the league, or they
start doing stats, that's
when you know the league is successful. When I see others
stepping up, wanting
to join the most important team in Superstar Basketball,
that's when I know I'm doing
my job. When I hear players on Superstar Radio or fans
wanting to interview
others on Superstar TV, that's when I feel like #32 off the
court.
Responsibilities and job descriptions NEED NOT DEFINED.
It's a team effort. Those
who personally know me know that I would rather do things
myself. I try not to rely
on people but as Commissioner or whatever you wanna call it,
I had to learn how
to delegate. I had to learn how to trust my teammate
because I came to realize I can
only do so much, I'm not an All Star. I run the point. I
can't rebound, block shots,
score at will, grab a steal, hit a three, dish a no-look
pass, hit a game-winner in the
same day. (maybe LA Fitness basketball)
We all must be accountable. We're all in this together. It's
a TEAM EFFORT. When
we do something great, we all take credit. When someone
falls, we all fall.
Know who you R.
Peace.

The 80 List |
Due to INACTIVE PLAYERS playing in a game on
Sunday, there will be a 1 day delay
on all our features. Game logs will be updated on Tuesday night,
Recaps will be
updated on Thursday night, and so forth...
Why do we do this? Well, when we have to put out
focus on a team that's not
following the rules, then it delays everything else.
The INACTIVE player played in a game at Brea Canyon during
the
Showtime vs. So Cal Ballers game.
Showtime actually had 2 players
from the 80 list play for their team.
Rules were finalized as of 4/19/08.
General Managers should be reading our rules and one of the
rules say....
II. K.
Players on the
"80 List" must pay
their balance
of $80 before they are
re-instated in the League.
A $80
fine will be assessed to teams that use players that are in the
"80"
list.
The 80 list is a list of players who played
games but failed to pay any
league fees.
PLAYERS
was updated on 4/18/08. This page included a
page on
which players are on the 80 list.
We
here at Superstar Basketball take this league
seriously. If you're on it, YOU
HAVE TO PAY BEFORE YOU PLAY. FOR A PLAYER TO LIE ABOUT THEIR
STATUS
NOT BEING ON THE 80 LIST IS DISRESPECTFUL TO YOUR TEAM, TO OTHER
PLAYERS, AND TO OUR LEAGUE. 5 Players have already been
re-instated. Is it
fair to them that they had to pay and you didn't?

|

Schedule Requests |
My biggest pet peeve in the League is schedule
request.
I really, really, really, hate it when players (that aren't GMs)
ask for priority
in scheduling. Teams that make a full payment first are high on the
priority list.
The list includes: Assassins, Thrillers, Money Inc,
Flashback, Deep Penetration
Dagobah System, The Problem, High Five, The L Squad, Supreme...
When you sign up and you registered for game time, if you
indicated ANY, you
will get scheduled ANYtime of the day. If you signed up for
morning, we'll do our
best to get you scheduled in the morning. If you signed up in
the afternoon...
I'm sure you feel me on this. I get tens of e-mails regarding
schedule requests, I'll
get texts about it too, and sometimes when I'm at the gym
benching, I still have
a couple of people asking for game times. Work with our
schedule and we'll
work with you.
Thanks for understanding.
