SCOREBOARD

 The 80 List
Due to INACTIVE PLAYERS playing in a game on Sunday, there will be a 1 day delay
on all our features. Game logs will be updated on Tuesday night, Recaps will be
updated on Thursday night, and so forth...

Why do we do this? Well, when we have to put out focus on a team that's not
following the rules, then it delays everything else.

The INACTIVE player played in a game at Brea Canyon during the
Showtime vs. So Cal Ballers game.
Showtime actually had 2 players
from the 80 list play for their team.
Rules were finalized as of 4/19/08.
General Managers should be reading our rules and one of the rules say....

   II. K.
Players on the "80 List" must pay their balance
of $80 before they are re-instated in the League.

A $80 fine will be assessed to teams that use players that are in the "80"
list. The 80 list is a list of players who played games but failed to pay any
  league fees.

PLAYERS was updated on 4/18/08. This page included a page on
which players are on the 80 list.

We here at Superstar Basketball take this league seriously. If you're on it, YOU
HAVE TO PAY BEFORE YOU PLAY.  FOR A PLAYER TO LIE ABOUT THEIR STATUS
NOT BEING ON THE 80 LIST IS DISRESPECTFUL TO YOUR TEAM, TO OTHER
PLAYERS, AND TO OUR LEAGUE. 5 Players have already been re-instated. Is it
fair to them that they had to pay and you didn't?

 Schedule Requests
My biggest pet peeve in the League is schedule request.
I really, really, really, hate it when players (that aren't GMs) ask for priority
in scheduling. Teams that make a full payment first are high on the priority list.

The list includes: Assassins, Thrillers, Money Inc, Flashback, Deep Penetration
Dagobah System, The Problem, High Five, The L Squad, Supreme...

When you sign up and you registered for game time, if you indicated ANY, you
will get scheduled ANYtime of the day. If you signed up for morning, we'll do our
best to get you scheduled in the morning. If you signed up in the afternoon...

I'm sure you feel me on this. I get tens of e-mails regarding schedule requests, I'll
get texts about it too, and sometimes when I'm at the gym benching, I still have
a couple of people asking for game times.  Work with our schedule and we'll
    work with you.

    Thanks for understanding.

 Season-opener
Because of the slow start (Winter 2008) due to the lack of gyms available last
winter, we couldn't really have a break in between seasons. This was the
first time we had to start a new season immediately after and I would say we
made a fine transition from Season 7 to Season 8.

The weekend was smooth and everyone is thinking the same thing:
   "Stack up our roster!"
If you're going to stack your teams in Gold, you're going to get clowned on.
This is the recreation division. Gold is what it's supposed to be, recreation.

Everyone knows the competition is in Diamond and Platinum. If you really want
to prove your team is great, do it in Diamond or Platinum. There's more prizes,
better prizes, and more recognition. You get to play for a free season in Diamond,
you get trophies, personalized championship tees, and if you get to the All Star
Game you get to play for the opportunity of keeping a Superstar All Star jersey.
   More on that later on.

   CORRECT SPELLING
For the games where I logged teams in myself, I'm hoping those names were
spelled right. For the other GMs who wrote their players in, some looked really
really bad, like 3rd grader penmanship bad. E-mail me for corrections at:

commish@superstarbasketball.org

   TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
Walnut Rec is set for this weekend. Some games will be played at American
Sports Center. If your team isn't fully paid, expect to play some games there.
As soon as I get word on our schedule at ASC, I'll post the tentative schedule
   on the website.

 The Last Season
Season starts in 4 days. I'm excited, are you?
This is our first season where there's no break in between.
Season 7 ended with Championship / All Star Weekend.
A week later, we're at it again.

I've played 7 seasons straight. The Durty 30 is a year and a half away.
Needless to say, the twilight of my basketball career is nearing.

   Then the concept hit me.

   What would you do
If this were your last season.
Would you play like an All Star?
Would you fly higher than ever?
Would you finally take your team to glory?

Play like it's your last game,
Play like it's your last season.
