Dennis Adams grabs second GM of the Season
title
The Problem's regular
season winning streak came to an end this
season but that didn't prevent Dennis
Adams from securing his second General
Manager of the Season Award. He barely edged
out Semi Pro Inc's GM Jason Sanchies
and Coach Don. Both teams rank #1 and
#2 respectively and both GMs are expecting
nothing short of a Finals appearance with
both teams finishing with a 6-2 record.
Being a General Manager is the toughest job
in the league and the challenge of managing
personnel in the league's highest division
shouldn't be overlooked. Both The Problem
and Semi Pro Inc create controversial
headlines but are well behaved on the court
and off the court.
Jason Harris led The Problem to a 6-2
record and he led the team in scoring by
averaging 21.7 ppg. He averaged 8.3 rpg, 1.5
spg and 1.7 apg. Kenneth Ubom was a
runner up MVP and he averaged 22.1 ppg for
Association. He led the division with 18
steals and was instrumental in leading
Association back into the playoffs.
Defensive
Player of the Season award was rewarded to
rookie Donald Jones from Semi Pro
Inc. Donald averaged 8.8 rpg, 1.0 spg, 1.7
bpg. "Donald's defensive presence won him
over and he did a lot of things that didn't
necessarily show up on the box score," said
a league representative. "Bobby Mugsby
and Aaron Thompson had great
numbers but The Donald played exceptional
defense for Semi Pro Inc."
Cortez Ward was named Player of the
Week twice in his rookie season. The Skull-basherz
rookie averaged 19.9 ppg, 1.9 apg, and
played in all 8 games for Semi Pro Inc. His
teammate, Aaron Thompson was highly
considered for Rookie of the Season honors
as well and he averaged 22.7 ppg, 4.0 apg,
1.8 spg.
Damien Jones was named Most Improved
Player of the Season after making the jump
from Gold Division to Diamond Division. The
former Heavy Hittaz squad jumped 2 divisions
higher and continues his stellar play with
his Diamond Division team, Showtime. Damien
averaged 21.5 ppg, 1.7 spg, 6.5 rpg.
