 BUMP, BUMP, BUMP
 12.5.08
   NJB
No Walnut Rec Center. NJB is renting the gym out until mid February...

   UPLAND GYM
I just got word that Upland won't be available until after 3 p.m. on Sunday.
   $#%*()#$
We're working on acquiring gyms for the morning hours. Games affected are
the games from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.  ASC is unavailable during that time because of
volleyball. All the night games are good but the games in the morning need to
be re-located. Possible gyms are Upland and Rancho H.S.

We already know why we have low priority at UPLAND. COUGH. COUGH.
Also, there are still a lot of teams NOT FULLY PAID.

   7 GAMES
Just a reminder, Women's Division teams get 7 games, not 8 games.
Teams not playing this weekend will pay the following week for Playoffs.
   All 6 teams qualify.

I'll update this throughout the day.
    Thanks.

 101 Thanks...

   WHAT I'M THANKFUL FOR
I'm thankful for the great 2008 that we had...
I'm thankful for the adobo and sinigang I'm about to eat on Thanksgiving Day...
I'm thankful for the community that we have, a community that is like family
to me because without you... (enter more sappy comments here).
I'm thankful for Superstar Radio for giving me something to listen to when I'm
   on a treadmill...
I'm thankful for Superstar TV for giving me an outlet for my montages...
I'm thankful for Nikki Aguila and Leilani Lacson and James Bernardo...
I'm thankful for those crappy association officials because they made me
realize how bad referees can be.
   I'm
NOT thankful for the 1 fight that blemished our record. =(
I'm thankful for the supporters who backed us up during that rough time.
I'm thankful for the music that blasts when we play on Sundays...
I'm thankful for the City of Walnut for having Walnut Rec...
I'm thankful for the friendly rims at Upland where I average 10+ ppg.
I'm thankful for ASC for giving me eye candy to look at. Hollah at yo boy...
I'm thankful for San Diego Municipal Gym for hosting SD division...
I'm thankful for the staff writers who stay up all night on Saturday writing.
I'm thankful for Rocky Anciano because his witty comments make us laugh.
I'm thankful for Kenneth Ubom for keeping it real with the write ups...
I'm thankful for Harry Yoo for improving as a writer.
I'm thankful for Ken Ngarayawongse for his detailed, unbiased analysis.
I'm thankful for Terrence Morales for having essays as write ups and believing
   in Uno-dos.
I'm thankful for Andrew Persaud's write ups on shoes. If any man would marry
a pair of shoes, it would be "Sole Collector".
I'm thankful for the Lakers for making me believe in our team again...
I'm thankful for the dozens of GM who continually believe in Superstar
Basketball as being the best basketball league in So. Cal.
I'm thankful for the hundreds and hundreds of exciting games I've watched
   all year.
I'm thankful for the G.O.D. for being so A.W.E.S.O.M.E.
I'm thankful for Reggie *cough* for uh... *cough* uh... looking like Roscoe Umali.
I'm thankful for Francis Pascual for being one of the best stats keeper that we
have. I still don't know how you got voted best staff worker last season.. jk.
I'm thankful for Ryan Francisco for doing a great job on SD this past season...
I'm thankful for the players who clown around with me and make the job
easier on Sundays... you know you are... "I see you..."
I'm thankful for my grandmother who helped me guide me the right way. RIP
I'm thankful for the women who inspire me.... Hollaaah at yo boy, again. LOL
I'm thankful for people pointing out my mistakes on the website. It motivates me...
I'm thankful for the food that people bring for the staff =Þ
I'm thankful for the officials who REALLY DO A GOOD JOB but still get everyone
complaining at them because hey, they're the zebras and they're always bad.
I'm thankful for what Superstar Basketball has become....
I'm thankful that somehow, in 2006, God gave me with the vision of
having a 10 year reunion with the teams at St. Martha's Basketball League. I
never thought 6 teams would turn out to be 77 in 10 seasons.
I'm thankful that gramma told me to repent. I sacrificed my temptations, the
nightlife, the boom-boom-boom (you know what I'm saying) and I'm blessed...
I'm thankful for every stats person who did stats for us.
I'm thankful for the teams who make every Sunday worthwhile....
I'm thankful for humility and for people who know what that means.
I'm thankful for WEST COAST GOLD RUSH, the best season so far (Summer 08).
I'm thankful that I didn't really have to write a 101 thank you's. Because you
guys are so understanding, with my flaws... that I'm really thankful for.

   God Bless.

 MOVING FORWARD
 11.20.08
   THE BRAWL
We need to move forward and put Sunday's melee behind us.
I have my own opinions regarding the situation but crying over spilled milk
over the Internet won't resolve anything. It already happened, punishment
has been handed out to both sides, let's build on our reputation as one of
the best basketball leagues in Southern Cali.

   DON'T GET IT TWISTED
When we write about games (previews and recaps), we tend to fabricate
on material especially with rookies since they really don't have a history yet.
During Rivalry Week, we hype it up and we do exaggerate on certain material.
We have experimented with just... writing about the games and making it
bland like plain vanilla but no one was reading it, no one was interested.
Our writers have different styles, some make it dramatic, hyping it up...

When you have a good game, everyone knows about it. When you mess up,
you suffer the consequences. Losing a Championship Game, having a game
winner on my face (Matt Stein), slippin' in the scoring race... I've had all that
written about me. That's what keeps me driven to improve. The website is
one of the things that made Superstar Basketball successful. It's interactive.
If you do good, you look like a hero. If you mess up... well... don't mess up.

The reporting on Sunday wasn't fabricated.

Witnesses were interviewed and nothing was over blown. It's a scene I never
want to witness again and law enforcements will be contacted if a next
fight takes place (knocks on wood). I know, it comes with the territory of
running a sports league. 1 Fight in 10 seasons is impressive. Those guys are
   out... let's move on

   WHO YOU GONNA CALL?
I am obligated to contact the General Manager, and no one else. I'm not going
out of my way to call anybody who throws punches and fights fans in the
league. There's nothing to straighten out when I saw the fight first hand.
If your General Manager is confirming with me the information, then you need to
resolve that with your General Manager. If GMs have their players contact me
for whatever reason, well you're not only wasting my time but the league's also.

I really didn't want to post the previous blog before but days after the incident
I still feel the same way. It might be a good insight on how my week went...
If you're sick of the fight and don't want to hear about it, don't read.

   Peace.
