COMMISH

This has got to be the worst weekend of my tenure. A lot of unfortunate things happened over the weekend some within my control, others just beyond reach. It's a learning experience, and that's the best I can hope for, learning from my own mistakes.

One of the unfortunate things that happened was Cali's Finest and Lingustic Legend's' dropping out of the League. The full article can be seen here.

TEAMS DROPPING OUT

Things that I did learn
1. Never park just anywhere, specially outside of American Sports Center. They will tow you, trust me.
2. Maybe I should get a phone number for gym directors so I can give them a wake-up call (no names mentioned) to open the gym.
3. Meetings should have minutes published on the website so that people are aware of their responsibilities (again, no names mentioned).
4. When disagreements happen between me and a staff member, we'll take it outside in the parking lot.
5. NEVER trust a team on making a full payment for their registration fee, specially if it's the same team that doesn't pay ref fees before the game.
6. Have back-up stats-keepers just in case one of them (again, no names mentioned) decides to leave for a spontaneous trip to Vegas.

On the bright side:
1. Congratulations to Tommy Avalos for finally giving birth to a baby girl this past weekend. "I'm sure that beer belly is sore from all that pushing."
2. Congratulations to Brian Gipson, new Radio Personality for Superstar Radio. All you have to do is give him the digital recorder and he interviews players on a very professional level.

Lastly, I'd like to apologize for my misconduct after the Hippos and Phenoms game. There were fans at the stands and my profanities towards a staff member was uncalled for. Next time I have a disagreement with anyone regardless who's at fault, I'll take the conversation outside.

Thanks and have a safe Labor Day Weekend.

UPDATES

AUGUST 22, 2007

- There are no GAMES ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND. While everyone is taking the weekend off, we'll have all the rosters up during the week break.

- Internet connection went down twice in the last week. One more time and I think I'll change my service but for now, everything is running smoothly.
