NON PAYMENTS
AUGUST

Superstar Basketball League has dropped two of its teams, Cali's Finest and Lingustic Legend's' after both teams failed to show up for their respective games on Sunday, August 26th. Cali's Finest (1-4) was scheduled to play against Zero Balance while Lingustic Legend's' (1-4) was scheduled to play against Angkor Wat.
League officials made contact
with the General Manager, Dimitrios McKay,
and the GM was aware of last weekend's
schedule. The GM responded, "...my bad yo....my
team dropped out on me... they didn't have
my back... I don't think my team will cover
the fees either."
Swingman, Chris Lacy,
was in attendance for his Lingustic
Legend's' game but was surprised to see that
he was the only player ready to play. He was
informed of the league policies in regards
to non-payments.
League representatives did
make contact with 2 other players from the
teams at an undisclosed location and
Quincy Johnson stated, "...Dimitrios
told me that our game was cancelled."
Both teams have two payment
options.
a. Pay $340 for each team + $80 forfeit fee
for each game ($160 total).
b. IF the GM doesn't want to deal with it,
each player can pay their $50 return fee
(per player, per team) before the season
ends. The current season ends, on October
16, and the fees will increase to $85 per
player.

The fines are cohesive with the fines and the rules of Superstar Basketball. The following fines are listed below for reference and can be seen by clicking here.
FINES
a. $80 - Reinstatement fee
for teams that forfeit. (GAME TIME FORFEIT which means not showing up to your games).
b. $50 - Reinstatement fee for
any suspended Player involved in other
altercations.
c. $40 - Return fee for all
checks that bounce.
d. $5 - Failure to leave the
bench clean will result in a $5 fine.
Stats-keepers, refs, staff may assess the
fine but there must be photographic evidence
showing exact time and date.
The League has different
solutions to fix the subject matter and with
4 teams not paying their registration fees
in the last 2 seasons, the League
Commissioner will make changes to the
registration process for the next season.
Teams signing up will be placed in an
"INTEREST LIST". Teams can make their full
payment or put a down payment of $200 and
they have until Week 4 to make the full
payment. Teams that make their payment
before the season starts will be OFFICIALLY
REGISTERED.
The League Commissioner
issued the following statement:
"I know how it is, I've been there and at
the same time, we do all we can to prevent
this from happening... we even created a
separate page so that players are educated
on the
financial breakdown of their team. In
the past, I've trusted that our teams make
the full payment by the end of the season
and for the second season in a row, this is
what happens. You've seen how much Superstar
Basketball has evolved in a year and we're
hoping you'll experience the 'Superstar
Basketball experience' but first things
first... you have to pay the fees."
Two teams dropped out by Week
3 on Spring 2007 and players are still on
the "85" list. Each player must pay $85 just
to play in the League again.
