RIVALRY WEEK

JUNE 9, 2007

Hanz Jimenez
COMMISH

RIVALRY WEEK. My favorite time of the season besides the All Star festivities of course. We find out which teams want it and which teams simply don't have it. A time when friends hate each other on the hardwood (NO FIGHTING) and former teammates compete for bragging rights. This is a make-or-break week for a lot of teams competing for Playoff spots and games will be competitive. EMPHASIS on NO FIGHTING.

DIAMOND DIVISION. This just in. 6 personal fouls in the elite division. All other divisions... 5 personal fouls.

WOMEN's DIVISION. Registration page should be up by 12 p.m. To add some more interest to the women's division, we encourage our men's team to have a women's team affiliated with their men's team. Word is B-LO-DA-RIM is looking for a women's team while Thrillers have Thrill-Seekers as a women's team. Lalo Arroyo has already tried to register as Lala Arroyo, and uhh guys can't play in the women's league...that goes for you too, Tammy Avalos.

SORTABLE STATS. Were updated on Saturday morning.

BASKETBALLS. Two of our basketballs were "accidentally" taken out of the gym last weekend. If you "accidentally" have our basketballs, please return it. We only have 2 basketballs which means, players will play with the basketballs that you bring in. If your motive was to steal one of our basketballs, think about it... you got greedy, took a basketball, and now everyone has to play with a cheap Wilson ball or the NBA ball that lasted for half a season. We're not going to allow everyone to play with their own basketballs either. Either we get those 2 TF-1000 basketballs back (not as a lender, either) or we use the cheap basketballs, Mr. Wilson or NBA Basketball that doesn't bounce. Your choice.

FLY HIGH or STAY LOW
It's a make-or-break weekend for most teams in Rivalry Week. While the elite teams have secured a spot in the upcoming Playoffs, teams looking in from the outside still have a chance to secure a spot in the next two weeks.
GAME OF THE SEASON
Everyone was on their feet during the last minute of the Elements vs. Hippos rivalry game as Elements win a nail-biter, 43-42.
WE FLY HIGH, WE BALLIN'
Joseph Flores breezes by Reigning Finals MVP, Mark Moton, for an easy bucket during Rivalry Weekend. Mark got the last laugh as Deacons defeat Angkor Wat, 92-85.
CLOSE BUT NOT ENOUGH
#1 Stunners Aaron Boyd nearly gets his shot block by Cali's Finest Quincy Johnson. The Stunners won 56-47 and the Stunners have now won 5 in a row.
James Bernardo diffusing the Hungry Hippos - Elements tension: Let's have fun this Sunday, keep the rivalry ON THE COURT, and show everyone how we Christians like to roll on the basketball court.

Chris Mosley on Abstract's Championship hopes:  Seriously u guys aren't gonna win the championship abstract is gonna win there's no teams that can stop us none!
