WOMEN'S
DIVISION
The Inaugural Season started on
Season 5 with five teams and the women's
division is back with more teams than ever. |
|
GOLD DIVISION
Recreation Division. The
lowest division in Superstar Basketball yet
arguably the most popular division. "Commish,
it's funny how you clown the Gold Division but
more people join it." The drama, the
trash-talking on the MySpace message boards,
everyone seems to just have fun and not take the
game so seriously. For some players, winning is
everything... for others, it's hanging out with
your friends and making new friendships. |
|
PLATINUM
DIVISION
Competitive Division. While the
elite teams are moving up, it wouldn't be a
surprise if some of the more outspoken teams in
the Gold Division take the drama with them.
Rated R and Thrillers have already committed to
"moving up" It's not where the best ballers will
be but most people can still have a challenge of
playing against competitive teams. |
|
DIAMOND
DIVISION
The elite. "We are missing out on
some dunks, mannng." The "NO DUNKING" rule at
Walnut Rec Center inspired the staff to acquire
another gym just because we're missing out on
the high-flyers of the League. The dunkers
should be in this division along with teams who
are looking to play ONLY the best. |

8.
Eight Games
8 Games on
Saturday (Women's) or Sunday (Men's).
That's eight games that lasts 2-3 months, a time
period long enough for you to improve and
develop yours skills on the basketball court.
There's enough time between seasons for players
to recuperate from the long, grueling season. |
|
7.
Rivalry Weekend
Remember that
fool who played in your team and he went out and
started his own team. How about your friend from
high school that keeps talking and talking and
talking saying how his team is better than
yours. The staff will do its best to promote
competitive games and the climax is usually on
Week 7, the week known as Rivalry Weekend. |
|
6.
Growth
The League
started out with 6 teams just a little
on August 6, 2006. It doubled the following
season with 12 teams and in its 3rd season, it
had a total of 26 teams. Between the 3rd and 4th
season, the competition was higher than expected
and we had 4 teams pave way for 10 new teams. 32
teams in 4 seasons is one thing...but it's
quality over quantity and that's why teams come
back for more. |
|
4.
Playoffs
This is the
epitome of it all. The Championship Game. The
road to the 'chip is tough specially in
Superstar Basketball. The Playoffs is a two day
event with the first two games being the
toughest. The 1st Round and the Semis take place
a week after the season ends and is followed by
the Championship Game a week later. |
|
3.
Zero Tolerance for Fighting
Physical play is
part of the game. A hard foul is simply that a
hard foul but at the end of the game, we're all
friends and one big family. The governing body
does its best to maintain the integrity of the
League and our code of conduct is strict. ZERO
TOLERANCE FOR FIGHTING is simply that. |
|
2.
Hype
From the music
blaring from the speakers to the hype
surrounding your game, there's no question that
when you are playing in a big game, you might
get somewhat nervous. From the articles, the
standings, even on the message boards, sooner or
later the spotlight will be on you and it's up
to you to prove that you want it. You might even
be
Player of the Week. |
|
1.
Friends
Superstar Basketball values
diversity and we have no color lines. Our
basketball community is getting bigger and we
provide the forums for friends and teammates to
keep in touch whether its in our MySpace forum
or in our message boards. |

"Basketball is more than just
a game, it's a lifestyle."
