SCHEDULE REQUESTS

If it's not on the message board, CLICK HERE, it won't be granted. Period..

REFEREES

I'll talk as a player so that it's clear to some people.
Zebras are zebras. They'll make their calls. Sometimes they're not right but no one is perfect. I had my run-ins with some referees too and I too get caught up in the heat of the moment.

Based on my experience from running in other leagues, when you talk to them as people and give them that respect, they'll explain their calls to you. When I got caught up and I was giving them no respect and I was arguing calls just for the sake of being disruptive, I could barely get an explanation from them. It took me experience to realize that referees aren't perfect, but if you treat them with some respect, they'll return the favor. Simple as that.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Link to Superstar Kids is on the right. If you're going to act like a kid on the basketball court and throw tantrums, then we suggest you register.

ROSTER LIMITATIONS

Simple explanation for teams in all rosters.

DIAMOND - Stack up your squad with talent. No limits. As long as they're on the roster by the deadline (Week 2, already passed) then they can play in the highest level.

PLATINUM - ONLY 2 PLAYERS from the Diamond Division. There are no gray areas. No EXCEPTION. Teams that are over the 2 player limit need to let their players know that they can't play.

GOLD - Recreation. Simple as that. If you're stacking your team with players from higher divisions and you're that desperate to win at the lowest level, then everyone will pretty much know about it. Same thing, 2 players from a higher division excluding the GM. Some players may have "moved up" and may have been added to Platinum/Diamond Division teams.

NOTE: Rookies in Gold are exempted because its their first season.

QUICK RUN DOWN OF SOME OF THE RULES.

- Clock runs until the last 2 minutes of the game. If the game has a lead of 10 points or more, then it runs.

- 5 Personal Fouls allowed for the whole game, 6 for Diamond Division

SCHEDULE REQUESTS

I try to be as professional as I can when it comes to schedule requests but when I get about a handful of requests on Friday... you gotta be kidding me. Just so you understand where I'm coming from...there's 45 teams I have to worry about, on top of that there's features to the site that are exclusive only to Superstar Basketball that I have to update every now and then, on top of a 9-5 job, there's a schedule for our stats people so we have to make sure our games are running with qualified stats-people. Lastly, my Sundays doesn't run only from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. If you check out some of the previews getting updated at 5 a.m. then yup... that's me up early in the morning right. The night doesn't end at 10 p.m... it ends at 11 after some of our stats people have dinner and we discuss what issues there are... and a panel votes on Player of the Week. It's not only me that votes for Player of the Week but I have certain officials I discuss that with.

I understand people have different schedules to and I try to make things easier for your team but we have to compromise. From now on, only GMs can request for schedule changes. Follow the link above or CLICK HERE. Requests from Sunday to Wednesday will be accommodated. Teams that paid first have priority in the schedule.

I get dozens of texts, hours of phone calls, I get e-mails galore, and about 5 people that will harass me about their schedule while I'm lifting weights at the gym. Please work with me by filling out the schedule requests.

PODCAST

I hope you guys are enjoying it. It's now streaming at the very bottom of the site so that you can listen to your teammates, your peers get interviewed by our staff. Hearing my own voice is embarrassing but I have to do it 'nah mean. If you want to help out by interviewing it would really help Superstar Radio because of the variety it will have. I know Brian Gipson will be helping out soon but in the mean time, "do work son".

UPDATES

So I finally had free time last night and updated most of the things I was lagging on. Records were updated, All Star page was updated, and the team stats are posted...just in time. I should have the sortable stats up by this week. It's pointless to have sortable stats when some of the teams have only played 1 game, 'nah mean?

SPORTSMANSHIP

In 6 seasons, Superstar Basketball has never had a full blown fight. There was a elbow check here or two and suspensions were handed to players because of that. Let me quote a rookie who understands what Superstar Basketball is all about. "The league prides itself in sportsmanship..."

With that said, a lot of officials are impressed with the sportsmanship that our players display. Everyone plays hard in the game but no one every gets into fights.

One thing I'm observing is a lot of players arguing with referees. It's not helping the cause, bud. Play your game instead of arguing with officials who are overseeing your game. These are licensed referees who have experience and respect them, they'll respect you. They're human beings, they make mistakes too, but the very least I expect from them is to explain their call to you. If they're not doing that, let Reggie Ramirez know and if it needs to be escalated, let me know. We have fired referees for blowin' it but you need to have a legitimate complaint.

THANK YOU.

As a reminder, the last day to add players to your roster was Sunday, October 21.....

Actually, because a lot of teams didn't play on Week 1, the deadline to add players is Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 11:59 p.m.

Email: commish@superstarbasketball.org

LASTLY...

There's been delays on the website because its still early part on the season. Me and some of my staff have been working on acquiring new gyms and we are this close to acquiring Rowland High School. Walnut Rec will may still be available in November and December.

Thanks.
