END OF
THE SEASON AWARDS - DIAMOND DIVISION
DECEMBER

Deacons Mark
Moton finally wins Regular Season MVP award.
The
All Superstar First Team Center has won two
Finals MVP awards but the Regular Season
Award has often eluded him. Four seasons
later, he can finally claim the Regular
Season MVP award after averaging 15.3 ppg,
2.6 apg, 13.1 rpg, 1.3 bpg. The All Star
Center led the Hollywood Deacons to their
best season finishing at 7-1.
"The best team in the regular season was the
Deacons and the team revolves around the
Center, Mark. Not only is he unselfish but
he makes everyone around him better. The
team knows that he is the MVP and without
him there would be no Deacons," said a
league official.
The voting panel consists of the League
Commissioner, Hanz Jimenez; the Head
Official, Reggie Ramirez; and numerous
stats-keepers.
The defending Champions, Foundation, were
represented by former MVP (Winter 2007)
Derrick DeVan who finished a close
second. Black Out's Keith Allen
received numerous votes as well. The
reigning MVP averaged 29.8 ppg, 12.3 rpg,
1.6 apg but Black Out's regular season
record of 3-5 wasn't enough for the former
MVP to win the award.
Andrew Knox started out as an offensive-minded player for Relics but his evolution to defensive stopper has taken Young Gunnaz to the top. The team matched its franchise best, 6-2 record and the All Star forward deserves a lot of credit for changing his game. The former Rookie of the Season now has a Defensive Player of the Season Award under his belt and he averaged 2.1 spg, 6.3 rpg, and a division-best 12 blocks. Although the stats doesn't show it for Deacons Oscar Mendoza, the swingman has a reputation for guarding the opponent's scorer and its no coincidence that the Deacons only loss was a game that Oscar wasn't there.
The 6th Season will be known for the arrival of two high-flyers, Young Gunnaz Amos Battle and Team Play's Kat Mims. The duo made the crowd cheer numerous times and their high flying dunks have often posterized opponents. Amos led Young Gunnaz in scoring with an average of 15.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.4 spg. Unfortunately for Team Play, Kat Mims only played in 5 games and was not on the ballot when the awards were selected.
The General Manager of the Season Award was awarded to Mark Pagdilao of #1 Stunners. His key additions in the off-season helped Stunners improved their record from 3-5 to 6-2. His addition includes Kenneth Ubom (Gold Division Finals MVP), Chris Pacana (Rookie) and Ethan Leano. Sam Yeung's Parking Lot Pimps made numerous additions as well and the team finished with a 4-4 record up from 3-5 last season.
#1 Stunners forward,
Terrance Martin, and Parking Lot Pimps
Tremel Fairman were highly considered
for Most Improved Player of the Season.
Tremel grabbed the rebounding title this
season with an average of 13.8 rpg (110
rebounds) and he finished with 13.9 ppg.
Last season he averaged 11.7 ppg, 9.0 rpg.
The Stunners improved their record thanks in
part to Terrance Martin who raised his
average from last season when he averaged
11.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.2 apg to 18.4 ppg, 8.9
rpg, 4.0 apg.
