COMMISH'SCORNER 12.20.06 |
Thanks for reading my weekly rant here. This
week's topic... OFF-SEASON.
1. The 1 month lay-off should help all of us
recover from the weekly grind of playing
recreation basketball. Lift weights, chill, and
play some NBA2K7. Sweet. I experienced what it
was like to be a Team Captain, but now I want to
see how it's like having to report to a Team
Captain. Thrillers, here I come.
2. HERE ARE IMPORTANT DATES IN THE
OFF-SEASON:
CHRISTMAS DAY - REGISTRATION BEGINS
JANUARY 7, 2007 - LEAGUE MEETING TO DISCUSS NEW
RULES, STATS, and STAFF. Meeting will be at NY
Pizzaria in Walnut at 7 p.m. during the Laker
game against Mavs. Beer is on me.
JANUARY 12, 2007 - Celebrate my birthday with me
and my brother, Mark. He will be performing with
his hip-hop group,
Antidotes ov Hip Hop
at Zen Sushi.
3. Finally...In spirit of the
Holidays, I decided to type out my wish list for
Christmas.
Commish's Wish List for Christmas
a.
Digital
Camera.
The Nikon that Reggie lend us produces blurry
images. Check out the Player of the Week
photos
compared to last season's. I remember in Week 7
last season when he broke my Canon...and now all
I have is this crap he lend. C'mon Reggie!!
b.
A Home Gym
for next year.
Getting started was the hardest part. Now that
Superstar Basketball has somewhat of a
following, we finally have the resources to
secure a home gym for next season opposed to
traveling to different venues. "I'm tired
of being homeless. I'm tawwd, I'm tawwwwd, I'm
tawwwwwwd."
c.
Championship
Belts.
We're not going to start a basketball tournament
just so we can have a 1 day tournament and have
the winning team win a trophy and call it a day.
Nope.
Superstar
is unique in a sense we don't do it the
traditional way. Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior,
Saturday Night's Main Event, Summer Slam. You
get the picture. The winning team wins a
Championship belt and automatic entry for the
next tournament so that they can defend their
title. Hmmm. Either I watched too much of
wrestling back in the day or I might be on to
something.
